Zach enters into his first year as the Wildcat’s Head Men’s and Women’s track and cross country coach. The Esbon, KS native comes to Baldwin City after serving three years (2004-2007) at Kansas Wesleyan University in the same position. Previous to KWU Zach served as an assistant coach and NCAA Division II, Fort Hays State University. As a student athlete he achieved four time All-American status, two time Academic All-American status while bring home a National Championship in the Javelin for the Tigers. Zach graduated with an undergraduate degree in Sports Management in 2001 and a Master Degree in Sports Administration in 2003. Kindler's coaching accolades include: Two KCAC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year Awards-2006, 2004; KCAC Women’s Cross Country Champions-2006, 2004; KCAC Women’s Cross Country Individual Champion-2006, 2004; Region IV Women’s Cross Country Individual Champion-2006; NAIA National Scholar Team-Women’s Cross Counrty-2006; NAIA National Scholar Team-Men’s Cross Country-2006. Kindler was named the NAIA Region IV Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year-2005. He has also coached 84 KCAC All-Conference Marks, 14 NAIA National Qualifier, and 9 NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes, among them was Kansas Wesleyan's first ever Women’s Cross Country All-American. Zac, his wife Sara, and new baby daughter Taylor, reside in Gardner Ks.
Mackie Valentin Assistant Coach A native of the Philippines, Mackie moved to the United States with part of his family when he was 13 years old. He completed his high school years at Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kansas. After West, Mackie continued his education at Fort Scott Community College where he was recruited to play basketball and football. After three semesters at Fort Scott, Mackie came to Baker University to finish his degree and play football. Mackie graduated from Baker in 2000 with a degree in business and finance. During his time at Baker Mackie completed three seasons as a wide-receiver in football and one season as a sprinter and jumper in track and field. He excelled on the gridiron with honors, including honorable mention all-conference(1999), unanimous first team all-conference (2000), and third team all-American (2000). Mackie was also a senior member of the Baker University football team that qualified for and won the KWTO Bowl in 2000. Mackie has been the only full time assistant track and field coach since 2002. He has been in charge of all preseason conditioning and strength and power development for all track and field participants. Mackie has done half of the recruiting since 2002. Mackie has coached sprints, hurdles, horizontal and vertical jumps and relays. His accomplishments include coaching national qualifier and three-time All-American triple jumper Brent Randle(2004-2007), national qualifier and finalist Brandon Hubbard(2006) in the men’s 100 meter dash, national qualifiers Chelsey Ornburn(2007) and Angie Heffner((2002-2004) in the women’s pole vault, as well as the jumps and sprints portions of the multi-event athletes, national qualifier Ashley Miller(2007), national qualifier Brett Weir (2003-2005), and national qualifier and All-American and Jerry Baker (2002-2003). Mackie currently resides in Baldwin City with his wife Triece and their dog Booger.
