OBORNY AND HOENER NAMED TO SUPER 20 TEAM OF THE CHICAGO RED STARS PRO FRANCHISE
CHICAGO, IL. – Sophomore Haley Oborny and Freshman Bre Hoener of Baker Women’s Soccer have officially been selected to represent the Chicago Red Stars pro soccer franchise.  The Super 20 team is part of the Chicago Red Eleven USL organization for young college players pursuing their dreams of a professional playing career.  The two girls traveled to Chicago this past weekend and beat out over 100 other girls at their respective positions.  The Chicago Red Eleven will serve as the official amateur affiliate for the Chicago Red Stars of the WPS.  The Red Eleven will play in the Midwest Division of the Central Conference, featuring a 12-game home and home league schedule against division rivals FC Indiana, West Michigan, Cleveland, Kalamazoo, Fort Wayne, and Minnesota.

 

|Lady’s Soccer falls in Penalty Kicks to Lindenwood
St. Charles, MO. – Baker gave it their all, but came up just short.  Both teams scored in the first half of the game keeping the score tied until the end of regulation.  For Baker it was Christine Janssens scoring to take over the HAAC lead for goals scored this season at 13. Lindenwood had stellar goaltending in Kristen Prest saving 10 out of the 11 shots on goal she faced.  In the end the game came down to penalty kicks.  Baker ended up getting outscored in the PK’s 4-3.  Baker missed their first shot and their fifth shot ending the game.
