Ivan L. (Swede) Malm

Who has brought honor to the University through his athletic achievements as well as his service and devotion to his alma mater October 1, 1983.

Four-year basketball letterman while playing for former head basketball coach, Russ Davee. Served as captain of the team his senior year, 1955-1956. Set an all-time Baker career scoring record in 1956 with 1,196 points. Also set the Baker and conference single-game scoring record against Southwestern College in December, 1955 with 44 points.

Second Team All-KCAC, 1953-54.
First Team Kansas Sportswriters’ All-Conference, 1953-54.
First Team all-conference selection, 1954-1955, 1955-1956.
NAIA District 10 nominee for All-American, 1955-56.
Lettered in tennis three years.
Member of Delta Tau Delta and the Baker B-Club, Serving as President, 1954-55.
President of his sophomore class and vice president of the Interfraternity Council as a senior.
Instrumental in the development and leadership of the Baker University Wildcat Booster Club.
Member of the Baker University Board of Trustees.
