- Outstanding athlete in all sports, Baker University 1915-1920.
- Star center for the 1919 state champion basketball team.
- Held the All-Kansas Conference center scoring record.
- Center for the 1919 All-Star Team
- Four-year letterman in football, basketball, baseball and track.
- World War I interrupted “Nev’s” education at Baker. While serving in the Navy, “Nev” played in the 1918 Rose Bowl Game when Army played Navy.
