Recognizes with Appreciation
Quincy Seymour
Who has brought honor to the University through his athletic achievements and through his career in business and community service.
- Participated and lettered in football, basketball and track while at Baker University. In football, he lettered as both a junior and senior.
- During his junior year, Baker won the conference championship.
- As a senior he was voted to the all-conference team both on offense and defense.
- In basketball, he lettered three years and was a starter on the 1941-1942 squad which took first place in the conference.
- In track, he captured three more letters for throwing the javelin.
- He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and was elected Baker’s Homecoming King in 1940. He majored in business administration.
- Following graduation, he served with the Air Force as a second lieutenant during World War II. Returning to Ottawa, he began a 31-year career as an agent for State Farm Insurance, and was a member of the Millionaires Club on several occasions.
- For many years was a coach and adviser to area American Legion baseball teams.
- Refereed football and basketball throughout Kansas high schools and small colleges for over 25 years.
- Was a member of the American Legion, the First United Methodist Church of Ottawa, and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.
