Baker University
Welcome, Recruits

Dear Recruits,

Baker University offers a unique opportunity to the multi-sport high school athlete who wants to continue with both sports at the collegiate level. While some schools may discourage athletes from trying to play multiple sports in college, Baker embraces the idea and asserts that one can excel both athletically and academically.

Jessica Walters was a past athlete who participated in volleyball in the fall and indoor / outdoor track in the winter and spring. She not only participated with the blessing of both coaches, she achieved NAIA All-American status in all three seasons while simultaneously being named to the NAIA Scholar-Athlete team. Dual sport athletes apply time management skills and utilize our Learning Resource Center for development of study skills and academic support.

The success of Jessica is one example of unique opportunities provided by Baker University. Please contact my office for more information. I can put you in touch with the respective coaches in the areas of your interest.

Sincerely,

Dan Harris
Athletics Director

About Baker Athletics:The Baker athletics department can look back on an impressive history and look forward to a bright future.. The Wildcats sponsor all 17 Heart of America Athletic Conference-sponsored sports and consistently finishes in the Top 3 of the HAAC All-Sports Award standings. The program dates back to the 1890s with a win over the University of Kansas in the state's first intercollegiate football game and boasts well over 100 All-Americans and conference titles.

The program also thrives in academics and philanthropies. Athletes are very involved in campus as officers of campus organizations. More than 50 Wildcats were named HAAC Scholar-Athletes for their success both on the field and in the classroom. Baker was one of the first NAIA schools to take part in the Champions of Character program, which emphasizes respect, servant leadership, integrity, sportsmanship and responsibility. More
