BAKER FOOTBALL RANKED 12th NATIONALLY IN SPRING PRESEASON POLL
Baldwin City, KS. – For the first time under Head Coach Mike Grossner, Baker University Football will come into spring play with a top 25 ranking. “It says a lot about how we’ve progressed over the past 5 years,” stated Grossner. Baker joins 3 other Heart of America Athletic Conference teams in the poll, with Lindenwood at #3, MidAmerica Nazarene #8, and Missouri Valley #16. Baker begins their 2009 season with a trip to Missouri Valley on Sept. 5, and returns home to face MidAmerica Nazarene the following weekend on Sept. 11.

FORMER PLAYER/COACH TANNER PURDUM TO SIGN WITH CHIEFS MONDAY MORNING
Kansas City, MO. - As of Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. things became surreal for former Baker University football player Tanner Purdum. The Kansas City Chiefs recently released their former veteran long snapper J.P. Darche, thus giving Purdum the opportunity he had always dreamed of. Purdum a former 4 year letterman at Baker University had this to say, “Hard work pays off, don’t give up on your dreams.” Purdum will report to the team Monday to finalize the details of his contract and officially join the 2009 Kansas City Chiefs
