Jan. 8 | Baker takes big win away from Div. II Texas A&M International
Baker defeated NCAA Div. II Texas A&M International University 65-57 at home in a midseason nonconference game.
The Wildcats' defense held the Dustdevils to a season-low 17 first-half points, building a 12-point led at the break.
Texas A&M International would bounce back in the second half, slowly cutting into the deficit and eventually leading at the five-minute mark. It would last only one possession as Nate Pedrow converted a three-point play and the Wildcats would never give it up again.
Pedrow led the Wildcats with 14 points on six-of-eight shooting from the floor.
The win is the first over a NCAA Div. I or II school this season for Baker. Earlier this season the Wildcats lost to the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Emporia State University and Fort Hays State University. Games against ESU and FHSU were exhibitions.
The Wildcats return to conference play on Thursday at home against Missouri Valley.
