Nov. 4 | Baker opens season with two wins

Baker University swept Missouri Baptist and Kansas Wesleyan in the season-opening Baker Classic Friday and Saturday at the Collins Gym.

The Wildcats beat Missouri Baptist 67-62 on Friday behind a balanced offensive attack. Molly Ediger and Lauren Shufelberger scored 16 points apiece. Amanda Yates chipped in 14 points and had 11 rebounds. Allie Heinen recorded 10 rebounds for Baker.

On Saturday, Baker eked out a 52-50 victory over Kansas Wesleyan. Yates scored 15 points and had 12 rebounds. She also made 9 of 10 free throws. Heinen chipped in 11 points.

Baker (2-0) will play host to the University of St. Mary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
