Nov. 7 | Poor shooting is Baker's enemy in first loss

The Wildcats shot just under 25 percent from the floor, losing to Sterling College 75-48 on Tuesday night at the Collins Gym.

Senior Amanda Yates scored 10 points in the losing effort. It was the third straight game she's scored in the double digits. Yates was 6 of 11 from the free-throw line.

As a team, the Wildcats struggled from the floor, hitting 13 of 53 shots.

Baker also had a tough time controlling Sterling's Alicia Collett, who scored 24 points in 30 minutes.

The loss is the first for the Wildcats in the young season. Baker opened the season with wins over Missouri Baptist and Kansas Wesleyan.

Baker now takes to the road for nearly the remainder of November. The Wildcats will take part in the Park Classic this weekend. They will play the host school Park University on Friday night in Parkville, Mo.
