Dec. 9 | Late rally falls short
The Wildcats rallied from 14 points down with under five minutes left but eventually lost to Lindenwood University 59-55.
Baker led at half, but struggled to put points on the board after the break, falling behind 17 points halfway through the period. Baker managed to pull to four points with two minutes to go, but costly turnovers allowed Lindenwood to walk away with the victory.
Both teams got off to a slow start scoring a combined 45 points in the first half. Baker shot 18 of 58 from the field, while Lindenwood shot 25 of 53.
The Wildcats were again led by senior center Amanda Yates who scored 23 and had 10 rebounds. Sophomore Lauren Shufelberger was the other Wildcat in double digits with 12. She recorded five steals and five assists to lead the team.
Next week Baker travels to Miami Shores, Fla., to take in Cruzin Classic. The Wildcats will resume play after the holiday break Dec. 30 against Bethel College.
