Junior Ashley Johnson, of Garden City, Kan., posted a two-round total of 178 to lead Baker University to a second-place finish at the Heart of America Athletic Conference women’s golf tournament on Monday and Tuesday at Stonewolf Golf Course in Fairview Heights, Ill.

Johnson, who finished tied for fourth after carding a second-round 88, was honored as an HAAC all-conference award winner.

The Wildcats finished with 743 strokes to finish behind Lindenwood (689) in the HAAC team standings. The NAIA Region V championship was held in conjunction with the conference tournament. Baker’s 743 score ranked third in Region V behind Lindenwood and William Woods (697).

Other Baker scores were senior Laura Baker (186), senior Beth Taylor (194), sophomore Melissa Brown (185) and freshman Jessica Porter (208).
