Baker Athletics announces new audio/video internet broadcast partnerKCteams.com

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University and the KCTeams.com Sports Network will team up to provide live audio and video for home contests in football and men's and women's basketball. Audio for the contests will be provided by KOFO 1220 AM and KNBU 89.7 FM, Baker's student radio station. Select Baker soccer contests will also be available in 2010-11.

The Baker Athletic Department will be streaming Wildcat volleyball independently.

Lynn Bott Inducted Into NATA Hall of FameLynn Bott

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Lynn Bott, director of sports medicine at Baker University, was officially inducted into the National Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame on Thursday, June 24, 2010, in Philadelphia.

This prestigious honor is bestowed on certified athletic trainers who have made a difference in the profession.

"Dedication, innovation, loyalty and leadership are common traits among Hall of Fame members," said NATA Executive Director Eve Becker-Doyle, CAE. "Those who receive the honor serve as an inspiration to their peers and as role models to the next generation of certified athletic trainers."

Former Baker tennis star named Head Tennis Coach
Joe Ahmadian
Joe Ahmadian will take over as head coach beginning July 1, 2010.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Former Baker tennis player Joe Ahmadian has been named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Baker University, announced Baker Associate Athletic Director Theresa Yetmar on Thursday.

A Dallas product, Ahmadian was named the 2007 Baker University Athlete of the Year during his senior season before being named an assistant tennis coach at Baker in 2008.

After completing his degree in 2008, Ahmadian became a certified teaching professional at the Midtown Athletic Club in Overland Park, Kan. Ahmadian was an assistant coach at Free State High School in Lawrence, Kan., in 2009 while serving as the assistant head professional at the Jayhawk Tennis Facility.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker University Athletic Department and Career Athletes have recently agreed to a partnership providing student-athletes a truly unique resource for career development.

Over the past 10 years, Career Athletes has conducted over 800 training and development seminars at universities throughout the country providing much needed career education for over 250,000 student-athletes. In addition to their proprietary training and development seminars, Career Athletes builds and maintains customized career networking web sites for individual university athletic departments providing additional career education, mentors, access to career opportunities and potential employers upon graduation, and a platform to connect with athletic alumni who are encouraged to join the network as mentors and/or job seekers.
