Set the conference record in the shot put and discus

1930-31 Baker Wildcat Stated, “Kermit could always be counted on for ten points in the shot and discus.”

For the greater part of the 1930 season, led the nation in scoring, ending up with 135 points

Best punter in Baker history — many times kicking the ball end zone to end zone

Elected to the All-State, All-Missouri Valley, Al-Kappa Sigma, and was an honorable mention selection to the Kunte Rockne and The Associated Press All-American Teams, 1930; selected to play in the Shriner’s East-West All-Star Game, 1931;

Played professional football with teams in the San Francisco Bay Area.
