Lindenwood shocks No. 17 Baker
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The weather was just as miserable as the outcome on Monday evening at Liston Stadium. After 33 scoreless minutes of play and a nearly two-hour delay because of lightning, the game resumed.
The score remained tied heading into the shortened halftime. Fifteen minutes into the second half, Lindenwood delivered what would be the game-winning goal on a free kick from Robin Rundstrom.
Baker had some chances. Kome Okiomah set up two crosses that the Wildcats were unable to capitalize on late in the second half.
Baker is now in the hands of the NAIA voting next week when the national playoff selections are announced.
With the win, Lindenwood improved its overall season record to 8-9-2 heading into Wednesday's showdown with No. 1 seed Benedictine College. View box score here.
