Jesse LaMay signs with Baker University wrestling

WELLSVILLE, Kan. – Kansas State Champion  and two-time Kansas State runner-up Jesse LaMay has signed with Baker University, head coach Jimmy May announced on Friday.

“This is just another example of some of the great wrestling talent the state of Kansas has,” said Baker head wrestling coach Jimmy May. “Jesse will be a great asset to our team next season and we look forward to helping LaMay achieve all of his dreams.”

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – To say the Baker University wrestling program has come a long way in three years would be an understatement.

Last season in what was just their second year of existence, the program boasted two NAIA All-Americans and closed out the season ranked ninth in NAIA Top 20 Wrestling Coaches’ Poll.

Price brothers, Shadrach and Gebhardt named All-Americans

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Baker University wrestling team wrapped up its 2011-12 campaign this past weekend, taking home an 11th place finish at the 2012 NAIA Wrestling National Championships. Baker had all 12 national competitors win matches and score team points.

Brandon Gebhardt highlighted the Baker squad, advancing all the way to the finals in the 285 pound weight class. Gebhardt lost by fall to top-ranked Eric Thompson of Grandview.
