Baker survives scare in 60-58 victory over Missouri Valley

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker matched its longest winning streak of the season on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Missouri Valley College, 60-58 for their fourth-consecutive victory.
Corey Anderson led all Baker scorers with 14 points, while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and 4-for-5 from the field. Ben Steinlage rounded out the Baker offense as the only other player in double figures with 10 points.
In a game that saw eight lead changes, Baker came through when it mattered most.
Corey Anderson put Baker ahead for good when he knocked down a key 3-point jumper with 31 seconds to go in regulation and Jordan Honore hit one of two free throws on the following possession to give Baker a 60-58 lead.
Todd Eils committed a foul with 2.1 seconds to play in regulation, but Chuck Misurca was unable to convert on the free throws as Baker escaped with a key HAAC victory.
Baker (15-7, 8-3 HAAC) finished the game 20-for-46 (44 percent) from the field and 5-for-17 (29 percent) from beyond the arc.
Missouri Valley College (8-13, 4-6 HAAC) finished the game 23-for-65 (35 percent) from the field and just 3-for-15 (20 percent) from beyond the arc.
