Baker women grab fifth at Park Invitational

- The Park Invitational was held at the National Golf Club of Kansas City (The Deuce).
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In their second tournament of the spring, the Baker women's golf team continues to struggle with illness and consistency on the golf course.
Sophomore Stacy Yowell led the Baker women with scores of 84 on the first day and a impressive 83 in windy conditions on the final day. Junior Dani Weimholt returned to action following a thumb injury and shook off a rusty first round 93 to shoot 85 in Tuesday's round.
"Short game from 100 yards and in, along with our golf course management are the keys to more consistent scoring. The harsh winter didn't allow us to get outside until early March and is the chief culprit to our rusty short game issues. We will continue to focus on short game and golf course management skills in preparation for our home tournament next week at Alvamar." stated head golf coach Karen Exon.
The Wildcats will be hosting their annual tournament at Alvamar Golf Club (Lawrence, Kan.) beginning on Wednesday, April 21 and ending on Thursday, April 22. The women's division will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. both days.
