BETHANY, Okla. - The season opener didn't go as planned for the No. 17 Baker Wildcats.  In just a little over 15 minutes into the game, it was the Baker (0-1) sitting in a 0-2 hole, a deficit from which the Wildcats could not recover.

The Crimson Storm (1-0) scored two goals within five minutes of each other. At the 11th minute Rachel Eguren scored on a pass from Whitney Seaton, and at the 16th minute Jackie Acevedo received a headed ball after a poor throw-in by the Wildcats, which she buried in the back of the net.

Baker women earn No. 17 preseason ranking

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker women's soccer team will enter this season as the No. 17 team in the country according to the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll. This is the highest preseason ranking the women have ever had and it marks the first time they have garnered top-20 honors in the preseason.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sisters Alix Schiraldi (left) and Shelby Schiraldi served lemonade and water to Overland Park firefighters (in gray shirts) and Johnson County MED-ACT workers Wednesday at their fundraising stand for the family of Shawnee firefighter John Glaser, who died fighting a house fire in their subdivision. They will be back at the stand, at 75th Court and Pflumm Road, this afternoon.
