Rick Weaver, the head basketball coach since 1985, retired from coaching basketball at the end of the 2009-2010 season after serving the longest of any coach in any sport for the Wildcats.

On the final day of the Major League amateur draft, left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuno was drafted by the Cleveland Indians. Over the past two seasons at Baker University, Nuno compiled 15 wins with an ERA of 1.98. In 2008 Nuno was named HAAC Pitcher of the Year.
