Men’s soccer reaches new heights in 2011
It was a historic year for the men’s soccer team: a Fab Four appearance in the NAIA tournament and a steady climb in the national rankings. Starting at 18th in September, the team earned the second-place spot midway through the season and entered the national tournament ranked third.
- In their fifth trip to the NAIA tournament, the Wildcats made their deepest run, playing tough against the eventual national champions, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), in the semifinal game. The Wildcats ended the season with a 20-2-1 record.
- The team ranked second nationally with seven Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Goshen (Ind.) led the nation with eight.
- The Wildcats shared the regular season Heart of America Athletic Conference title with Missouri Valley and placed second to Mid-America Nazarene in the HAAC tournament.
