Barbara Braa, BA ’78, vice president and trust officer at CornerBank in Lawrence, Kan., has earned the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C.

Becky (Milloy) Vrbas, BS ’78, is the principal at Indian Trail Middle School in Olathe, Kan. She and her husband, Dennis, became grandparents this year when their daughter Jessica Sweaney gave birth to Lyla Grace on Feb 9, 2012.

Wendy Mosher, ’98, and Marcus Bourquin were married October 13, 2012, at Osborne Chapel on the Baldwin City campus. They reside in Wichita, Kan.

Tracie Newell, BSN ’97, is a registered nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

Deb North, BS ’93, has received the Technical Services Certified and Certified Staffing Professional designations from the American Staffing Association. North is a certified placement consultant through the National Association of Personnel Services.

Amanda Polson, BS ’98, is an accounting coordinator for CBIZ Benefits and Insurance.

Gerald Smith, MSM ’93, is the president of Nazarene Publishing House.

Jackie Wolf, MSM ’91, is senior vice president and chief human resources officer at LyondellBasell. She resides in Houston.


Emily Allred, BA ’06, and Derek Allen Mathiesen, were married May 5, 2012, in Kansas City, Mo. Emily received a medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School and is finishing residency training in Milwaukee in obstetrics and gynecology.

Kristin Babcock, BS ’07, and Will Weyhrauch, BS ’07, were married July 20, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City. They reside in Lenexa, Kan.

Holly Brewer, BSN ’04, is an advanced practice registered nurse in Liberal, Kan.

John DeCesaro, MBA ’08, is the strategic brand manager at Armstrong Chamberlin in Haysville, Kan. He was recently featured in Wichita Business Journal 40 under 40.

Eric Lundstrom, BA ’06, manages the business affairs for the Swedish Crown Restaurant, scheduled to reopen in January 2013 in Lindsborg, Kan. He previously was the director of talent and development for EnergySolutions in Salt Lake City.

Leah (Watkins) McPeak, ’02, and her husband, Eric McPeak, are the parents of Aya, age 2, and Mila Anna, born March 19, 2012.

Emma Meador, ’03, and Justin Carter were married June 23, 2012, in Osborne Memorial Chapel. They live in Ashville, NC. Emma is the daughter of Sally Hey Meador, ’69, of Checotah, Okla.

Deb Needleman, BSM ’03, is the senior human resources manager at Cobalt MedPlans in Fort Scott, Kan.

Gretchen Norland, MAEd ’09, is an assistant professor of secondary education at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan.

Brenda Osterhaus, BSN ’09, and Jarrod Lang were married June 8, 2012, in Thornton, Colo. Brenda is a nurse at St. Anthony Hospital in St. Anthony, Colo.

Carrie Saia, MSM ’03, is the chief executive officer of Holton Community Hospital.

Kristi Saskowski, MAEd ’07, and Jeremy Herr, were married June 16, 2012, in Salina. Kristi is a first-grade teacher at Grace E. Stewart Elementary School in Salina. The couple resides in McPherson.

Angela (Andachter) Shadduck, ’00, lives in Bentonville, Ark., with her husband, Darren, and their three children, Brett, Brooke and Bryton.

Jeff Skillman, ’10, and Emily Burks, ’10, were married June 23, 2012, at Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Mo. They will be living temporarily in Springfield, Mo., while Jeff seeks employment in the Kansas City area.
