Scholarship Gala & Auction 2013
2013 Gala Raises More Than $300,000 for Scholarships
Live from the Orange Carpet Gala and Auction brought together more than 400 alumni, friends and corporate partners to celebrate a wonderful evening of fun and fundraising in support of Baker University student scholarships.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all who attended, donated and sponsored this important event.
We hope you enjoyed the welcome onto the orange carpet by our witty co-hosts, Jerry Weakley,’70/’92, and Johnny Rowlands, ’73, before being tempted by more than 100 incredible silent auction items.
The star of the night, Dr. Pat Long, showed off her acting skills in “Pat Goes to Hollywood” and our emcees, with the help of a few of our great Trustees, provided plenty of entertainment.
The lively Fund-a-Scholar auction was a great event that was stimulated by Dr. Long’s announcement that Andrew, ’70, and Peggy, ’68, Cherng of the Panda Restaurant Group had laid down a $150,000 challenge to the night’s supporters.
This year’s event was the most successful yet! We are proud to report that through corporate sponsorships, ticket sales, table hosts, silent and live auctions and Fund-a-Scholar, more than $300,000 was generated toward the University’s general scholarship fund.
On behalf of all Baker students, thank you again for your support of the Baker University Gala and Auction. See you next year!
Were You Unable to Attend?
