The travel group sponsored Baker University was created in the mid-1980s by then alumni director, Jerry Weakley. The purpose of the Wandering Wildcats is to encourage alumni, former students, donors, faculty, staff, parents of our students and friends of the University to travel with people who have similar interests. In addition to advancement staff members, the president of the University often travels with this group.
Over the past 27 years, the Wandering Wildcats have embarked on a variety of amazing excursions including cruises to the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Alaska, the Mexican Riviera, the Mediterranean and the Greek Islands. Other destinations have included a spring break in Hawaii, a Hawaiian cruise with a stop at Fanning Island, a barge trip and tour of France and Monte Carlo. The group has also made multiple tours of England, Scotland and Ireland; a trip to Taiwan and Japan; and a 21-day adventure to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. In June 2014, the Wandering Wildcats traveled to New York after a cruise to Bermuda.
Future travel with the Wandering Wildcats is under discussion.
