Excellent Preparation for Graduate Study

The communication program at Baker prepares you well for graduate study. Recent graduates have successfully pursued advanced degrees in communication at the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University, communication studies at the University of Kansas and conflict resolution at Southern Methodist University. Several others have attended law school.

Majors, Minors & Tracks

The Department of Communication offers a major with two tracks:

  • Communication studies offers a broad experience in communicating clearly and effectively.
  • Conflict management focuses on understanding interpersonal conflicts and responding effectively.

Students may minor in communication and in conflict management.

A major in communication also complements other disciplines easily and effectively as a double major.
