German Scholarship Application

The Department of Humanities offers a scholarship to an incoming freshman or transfer student who plans to study German. In addition to the application, students who are interested in German should include a writing sample. Instructions are listed at the bottom of the page.

Directions for the Writing Sample

Please submit a typed composition written in German that fairly represents your ability to write in German. It must be your own work. The suggested topic is "Why I study German." However, you may write on another topic of your choosing.

Minimum of 200 words
Double-spaced
12-point type
1-inch margins
