Bachelor's Degree in Theatre
Baldwin City Campus
Students in the Theatre Department receive training and practical experience in many aspects of live theatre: acting, directing, technical theatre and design. We also can prepare you for careers in theatre education, creative dramatics, children’s theatre and experimental and alternative theatre forms.
In and out of the classroom, you will work closely with theatre professors to grow as an actor, director, designer and theatre technician. With mainstage and student-produced theatre productions, you will have endless opportunities to work on campus productions.
In the classroom, where you can benefit from small class sizes and a 12-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio, you will receive personal attention while completing general theatre courses that provide you greater knowledge of the history, criticism, theory and production of theatre.
Students interested in secondary teacher licensure in theatre will work closely with Theatre and Education faculty to obtain licensure. Classroom experience is an emphasis of the program.
Whether you hope to be an actor, director, designer, technician, scholar, critic or teacher, you will leave Baker with the skills, knowledge and confidence to start a successful run.
