Theatre Department Scholarship Application

The Department of Theatre offers a scholarship to an incoming freshman or transfer student each year. Priority will be given to applications received before March 1.

In addition to the application, you must also do the following:

Submit a resume that focuses on your theatre experience.
Arrange for two recommendations from someone familiar with your theatre experience.
Schedule a performance audition or submit a tech and design portfolio or both. Auditions must be completed by March 10.

Recommendation Form

Email the following link and your area of major interest (acting, directing, tech and design, theatre education) to two people best qualified to know your ability in this area: www.bakerU.edu/theatrerecommendation.

Please ask your drama teacher for a recommendation if you have had such instruction while in high school or college. If you have not had such instruction, you may may be any teacher or counselor who knows you well enough to complete the form.

Performance Audition

Prepare two memorized monologues that show off your best acting and also show variety in your acting. Each should be about a minute and a half long. Auditions must be completed by March 10, 2012, to be considered for a departmental award.

Design & Tech Portfolio

Submit a portfolio of drawings, sketches and photographs of production work or other art or craft work. Include five to 10 featured images and anything else that will show us where your talents lie.
