Prenursing
Before being admitted to Baker’s baccalaureate nursing program, you must complete 62 hours of prerequisite work at an accredited college or university. Students who complete their prerequisite work at Baker with a minimum 3.0 GPA are given preference in admissions selections. You will work closely with a prenursing advisor at the Baldwin City campus to prepare you for your subsequent two years at the School of Nursing at Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka.
Requirements
To apply to the Baker School of Nursing, you must first fulfill the following requirements:
- Oral Communication, 3 hours
- LA 101 and LA 102 (at Baker), 6 hours
OR English Composition (elsewhere), 3 hours - Humanities or Fine Arts, 15 hour
must include Ethics and no more than six hours in any of the following disciplines:
art, music, literature, philosophy, religion, history, theatre, foreign language - Social Sciences, 9 hours
must include: General Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Principles of Sociology or Cultural Anthropology - College Algebra, 3 hours
- Statistics, 3 hours
- Science, 19 hours
must include Anatomy & Physiology with lab, Microbiology with lab, Chemistry with lab, - Nutrition
- Electives, 4-7 hours
