Cassy recently came to Baldwin City from Conway, Ark., where she served as dean of students at Hendrix College. She previously served as assistant, associate and acting dean of students at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Prelaw from Washington State and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Student Affairs from Bowling Green State.

Teresa, a Kansas native, oversees student housing and judicial affairs at Baker. Students can look to Teresa for assistance with questions concerning student life. Teresa holds three degrees and is working toward her fourth, a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from KU. Teresa is no stranger to Baker; her first visit was as a small girl watching her big brother play football for the Wildcats. She enjoys outdoor sports, shopping and spending time with her family.

Silas Dulan III

Silas, an Oklahoma City native, provides diversity training, programming and advising for students. He also is the advisor for Mungano, the student-run organization promoting diversity on campus and in the community. A Baker alumnus, Silas was a member of the football team and served as president of Mungano and as a residential advisor. He enjoys cooking, athletics and traveling.

Brett Bruner

Brett came to Baker in 2008 from the University of Central Missouri where he served as the graduate assistant for student leadership in the Office of Campus Activities. He oversees new-student orientation programs, leadership development, community engagement and volunteer services, student activities, and student organizations. He is a member of the National Board of Directors for the National Orientation Directors Association and the Emporia State University Alumni Association. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Emporia State University and a Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from the University of Central Missouri.

Kayla, area coordinator in the New Living Center, is a second-year graduate student in the Master in Higher Education Administration program at KU. She is from Lee’s Summit, Mo., and chose Baker because it is just the right size, and the people and community are wonderful! She loves John Mayer, Starbucks, zebra print, family, singing and dancing. Her favorite books are The Giving Tree and If You Give a Pig a Party. She knows she likes being an area coordinator because of the great residents she meets and working efficiently with the other staff members.

Randy Flowers

Randy, a native of Kansas and a Fort Hays State University graduate, serves as the area coordinator for Irwin Hall and the graduate assistant for Student Activities. He received his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership in 2011 and is pursuing a Master's in Higher Education Administration at Kansas University. In 2010, he received the Heart of America Region Scholarship for Student Leaders from the National Association for Campus Activities and his profile was published in Association of College Unions International's magazine, The Bulletin, in September. Randy enjoys working with many different students, helping them pursue many different opportunities with their time at Baker University.

Ruth Sarna, RN

Ruth, born in Oklahoma, has been at Baker since 1989, providing health care for Baker’s students. Last year Ruth was named a fellow by the American College Health Association, an honor given for exemplary service to the association. She serves on multiple boards and is adviser for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus. Walking, helping others and cheering on her 13 grandchildren are just some of the activities Ruth enjoys in her spare time.

Susan, originally from New England, offers career counseling and sets up career fairs, internships and other networking opportunities for students. Susan enjoys teaching FY 150 at Baker. Art shows, interior redesign and Holocaust history are among the many things that interest Susan. Before joining the Baker staff, she worked as a graduate student at the University of Missouri’s Career Center.

Kelly, a Kansas native, can help with accessing resources, job and internship searches, resumes and much more. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Emporia State University and enjoys working on all kinds of creative projects.

Tanya, a Kentucky native, moved to Kansas in 2001. A graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, she completed her culinary training at the Texas Culinary Academy in Austin, Texas. Tanya is responsible for operations in the Wildcat Cafe, Allen Dining Room, and University catering services. She and her family enjoy living in the country west of Lawrence, raising chickens and gardening.

Debby came to Baldwin in 2003 after having been fortunate enough to live in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Wisconsin and California. She joined the Baker community and Dining Services in 2006 and has very much enjoyed her many varied duties and her coworkers. Some of her pastimes include gardening, cooking, reading and enjoying the peace and quiet of the country, but most of all she enjoys the time spent with her family.
