Phi Mu is not just a sorority. Phi Mu offers everlasting friendships, a bond that never leaves. Since 1916, when the Zeta Alpha chapter of Phi Mu was installed at Baker University, many women have known and cherished the love and sisterhood of its members.
As the second women’s sorority founded in the country and one of the largest organizations of its kind, Phi Mu is a sorority rich in tradition. The Phi Mu sisters strive to uphold the ideals of love, honor and truth that were set forth by their founders in 1852.
In striving to attain these ideals, the sisters of Phi Mu are dedicated to philanthropic activities such as raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network and the University of Kansas Medical Center as well as participating in the Read Across America program for children. Members are also active volunteers on campus and within the community.
Phi Mu provides its members many opportunities to become involved in chapter and campus leadership. They are found in sports, theater and music groups, student senate, student activities council, ambassadors, Baker University Student Education Association and many other organizations.
The Phi Mu sisters also know how to have a good time. They participate in many social activities throughout the year, including the Neewollah Barn Party, Winter Semiformal, date parties, mixers and the annual Rose and White Formal.
The most important aspect of Phi Mu is the strong bond of sisterhood and lasting friendships that bring all sisters together for a lifetime.
