First Year Seminar
The First Year Seminar, required for all freshmen, provides the essential information and support needed to make the transition into college life. You'll learn about the academic and social aspects of the Baker community and develop the skills needed to become a successful student.
Students choose which section to join, based on their specific academic interests. Each section is led by a Baker faculty member who will serve as a mentor throughout the course and academic advisor throughout the first year. Every section is also assigned a student leader who serves as a peer mentor for the class group.
To enhance self-discovery and personal development, you will learn about study strategies, stress and time management, making wise decisions, and your learning style. The foundation provided in this course will give you the power to manage life inside and outside of the classroom.
