Wildcat men win Baker Relays, women take second
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker men's track and field team won its first outdoor event of the 2010 season this past weekend at the BU Relays. The Baker women took second.
The men's squad was highlighted by the 4x100 meter relay team that took first-place, running the event in a time of 42.24. The Wildcats also claimed victory in the 4x800 meter relays with a time of 8:22.47.
Individually, Aaron Hannon (pictured) was stellar in the men's pole vault clearing a height of 4.26 meters to take first-place, earning the squad 10 points.
The Baker women were highlighted by junior Mary Loveland and senior Carrie Lister. Loveland claimed victory in the women's steeplechase with a time of 12:37.78, while Lister took victory in the women's shot put with a distance of 12.26 meters.
The Wildcats will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Emporia State University.
