Education Student Experience
Baker education students have endless opportunities to learn about the education profession with both theoretical approaches and practical experiences built into the curriculum. Small class sizes allow you maximum interaction with classmates and professors. Below are some of the experiences in and out of the classroom that makes Baker’s education programs an enriching experience.
Baker’s education programs emphasize the importance of hands-on experience in the classroom. From your first education course as a freshman through your student-teaching experience to end your college career, you will be in the classroom, interacting with area students, being mentored by real teachers and engaging in a real classroom.
As a capstone of your education studies, you will spend a semester in a classroom, working closely with a teacher in executing lesson plans, activities and preparation for an entire semester in the educational area you have chosen. You will work with an advisor from the School of Education in setting up your student-teaching semester in the setting you prefer.
Baker University Student Education Association holds events throughout the year for education students to meet and take part in education-related events and preparations for the licensure process and teaching. Learn more about BUSEA .
