During past Interterms, the band has performed in England, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
The 50-voice select Concert Choir has thrilled audiences around the world. One of the most active performing groups on campus, the Concert Choir has toured across the United States and abroad and has been featured with the Kansas City Symphony, the Lawrence Chamber Orchestra and other area orchestras. Appreciative crowds look forward to the choir's traditional on-campus concerts such as Christmas Candlelight Vespers and Voices of Spring. Comprised of music majors as well as capable nonmusic majors, Concert Choir members enjoy worldwide concert touring opportunities.
University Community Choir
Baker University students team up with community members to create a choir of approximately 80 voices that sing music from a variety of genres. This choir is open to everyone and no audition nor choir experience is required. All that is needed is a passion for music and a desire to share that passion. The group debuted in spring 2010 and received rave reviews.
This choir is for students who have had previous music experience and are devoted to the large time commitment of practice and performance. As the University’s premiere group, the Chamber Choir performs for campus and community events year-round. The choir performs a variety of music from Renaissance Madrigals to modern vocal jazz. Future goals include singing for American Choral Directors Association and National Collegiate Choral Organization conventions and competing in some of the world’s greatest choral competitions.
