Anne Daugherty is Associate Professor and Chair of Liberal Arts at Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies and Director of music and liturgy at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Shawnee. A native of Australia, she is a graduate of the New South Wales State Conservatorium of Music and holds advanced degrees from the University of Newcastle and Australian Catholic University. She earned the M.Mus. degree in choral conducting and the Ph.D. from Florida State University, where she was an International Rotary Foundation Scholar.

        Dr. Daugherty chaired the music department at St. Joseph's College in Lochinvar, Australia, and taught at J.J. Kelly High School and Addington Middle School in Wise County. She has presented sessions at state, national, and international conventions. She served as Director of Drama at the Creative Arts Camp at Clinch Valley College and Radford University, Artistic Director for the Trail of the Lonesome Pine, Virginia's longest running outdoor drama, Director of Operations for the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and Marketing Director of Opera Roanoke. An active conductor and clinician, she has worked with festival choirs and drama workshops in Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. She is former director of the Australian NBN Television Children's Choir.

        Dr. Daugherty produced and hosted the program, "The Spiritual Tradition in the U.S.," for Public Radio International, which aired nationwide. She has received awards from the Professional Journalists Competition for her film reviews on Florida Public Radio. Dr. Daugherty's research interests include music, women, and film, and she has presented papers at the National Film and Literature Convention, the Virginia Humanities Convention, and the International Conference on Popular Culture. She was guest lecturer in the Invited Lecture Series at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Previous positions include research associate with the Online Academy at the University of Kansas and Visiting Assistant Professor and webmaster for the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at Virginia Tech.
