All three programs within the Graduate Liberal Arts and Education Unit
at Baker University School of Professional and Graduate Studies require students to
complete a professional portfolio prior to graduation.
At the beginning of each semester, a portfolio information meeting
is held. This meeting, usually around 45 minutes in length, covers the basic requirements
of the portfolio. The chair of Liberal Arts holds the meeting for MLA students and the chair
of Education holds the meeting for the MAED students.
At the end of each semester, a portfolio presentation meeting is held. At
this meeting, you are required to present one item from your portfolio that is either
particularly important to you, or provided you with the best learning experience. You will
then turn in your portfolio. It will be graded and returned to you within 30 days.
Contact the chair of your department if you not receive your portfolio back. You will
not receive back the "grade." It is kept for internal purposes.
