NICARAGUA

Leon is the city in Nicaragua where the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN) is located.
Nicaragua and Wisconsin are sister states under Wisonsin-Nicaragua Partners. Assistance to UNAN has been provided and continues to be provided by the MAA-Wisconsin Section, with which I used to be affiliated. Assistance to UNAN is ongoing.

In the fall of 1999, twenty PC's were taken to UNAN by Pastors for Peace. These computers were the gift of Baker University and the Charles F. Curry Company of Kansas City. They were required as a result of damage sustained by the university during Hurricane Mitch the year before. It is anticipated that during a visit to Leon in the fall of 2000, a new printer will be added to the gift of computers which have been installed in a room named after the Fraga Family.
