Personal: Colby Crank is a three-time NAIA national qualifier, as he took 4th place in 2012 in the 157-pound bracket as a freshman, then he took sixth in the 2013 National Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa in the 157-pound division and in Topeka, Kansas in 2014 he finished second in the 149-pound weight class.

Austin Hills joined the Baker sports medicine staff in the summer of 2015.

Hills received his bachelors degree in athletic training from Washburn University in 2011 and played football for the Ichabods as a punter. He then earned his masters degree in sports management from the University of Kansas in 2015.

During his time at Washburn, Austin served as the primary athletic training contact for baseball, was the secondary contact for football, and assisted with basketball, soccer, softball and tennis. He was also named Washburn's Athletic Training Student of the Year in 2011.

While at KU, he was the primary athletic training contact for tennis and spirit squad, and assisted with football.

In 2012, Hills also assisted the athletic training staff of the Tennessee Titan’s at the teams NFL training camp.

He currently resides in Lawrence with his wife Kaylee and son Jaxton.

Personal: John Ross Hughes is from Fort Scott, Kan. He is the son of Russell and Patricia Hughes. He has two siblings; Ashley, 31, and Victor, 21. His brother Victor also wrestles for Baker. He attended Fort Scott High School where he led the Tigers to a District Championship in football. John earned third place at state, and was a two time state qualifier. He transferred from Bethany College under direction from Baker’s now Head Coach of Wrestling Cody Garcia. He is majoring in Exercise Science.

Personal: Dane Thomas Lee Edwards is from Dodge City, Kan. He is the son of Scott and Alicia Edwards. Dane has three siblings; Hunter, 24, Kristiaan, 18, and Garrett, 14...He Attended Dodge City High School where he was a three time state qualifier, a three time All-WAC, and 2013 State Champion. Dane was named an All-American in 2012. He transferred to Baker from Bethany College under the direction of Head Wrestling Coach Cody Garcia. At Bethany, Dane was a two time Kansas Cup Champion, a regional runner-up in 2015, and an NAIA Nationals qualifier in 2015. Dane chose Baker, declining an offer from Newman University. He is majoring in Secondary Education. 

 

Nomination Procedures

Anyone is eligible to write an open letter of nomination regarding an individual they believe to be worthy of induction to the Baker University Athletic Hall of Fame. The nominations must be received by December 31 to be considered for induction during the next calendar year. Once an individual is nominated, he or she remain in an active file for review by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The selection committee sends recommendations in the spring to the President of the University for final approval for fall induction.
