Joe Ahmadian just finished his third season as the Wildcats head tennis coach. Ahmadian took both the men's and women's tennis programs at Baker from a last-place finish in the HAAC in 2011 to a third-place finish in 2012.

In 2014, the Wildcats competed in the postseason in the NAIA Independent Grouping Championships in Joplin, Mo., but each squad fell in its only matches of the tournament. Off the court, the men's squad garnered Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards including Zach Aldrich, Devin Glasgow and Ryan Gleue.

Along with his coaching duties at Baker, he is also a teaching professional at the Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence, Kan.

Ahmadian began his playing career at Baker in 2003 and helped lead the Wildcats to a conference final appearance against Graceland that season as an individual and a doubles player.

His sophomore season, Ahmadian only lost two singles matches and only four doubles matches with playing partner, Jose Mota. He was named the 2005 NAIA National "Player to Watch".

In 2006-07, Ahmadian and Mota achieved a national ranking of No. 22 and advanced to the finals of the Region V ITA Championships. The Dallas, Texas native, was named the 2008 Baker University Male Athlete of the Year by his classmates and served as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's teams in 2008-09.
