After serving as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Park University for four years, Tyler Price joined the Baker University athletics staff in 2012 as the Assistant Director of Athletics – Communications.

In his tenure at Park, Price served as the primary media contact for both men’s soccer and cross country in the fall, women’s basketball and men’s volleyball in the winter, as well as softball and track and field in the spring.

Price serves as the primary liaison between Baker’s athletics programs and the public. He will be responsible for serving the needs of not only the media, but also coaches, student-athletes, supporters and fans.

He is a proud member of NAIA-SIDA as well as CoSIDA. He has been awarded with ten NAIA-SIDA Top 10 in the Nation awards for his publications, including a first-place finish in the 2014 NAIA-SIDA In-House Website contest for his work with Baker's official site for Baker University athletics, This award pinned the site as the No. 1 NAIA athletics website in the nation in that category.

Price also took a second-place finish for his 2011 Park Men’s Volleyball Media Guide and Patch and Price's 2013 Baker football schedule poster earned No. 7 in the nation in the NAIA-SIDA Single Sport Poster contest.

Also in 2014-15 and 2015-16 Price will serve as a member of the NAIA-SIDA Board of Directors as he was voted on the board by fellow NAIA SID's in Orlando, Florida at the NAIA-SIDA Convention.

For the sixth-straight NAIA men’s volleyball season, Price also serves as the NAIA Men's Volleyball Sports Information Director.

In that capacity Price works closely with all 32 institutions and monitors the sports website and works with institutional media relations personnel. Price coordinates the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Player’s of the Week along with the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Top 10 Poll and serves as the on-site media coordinator at the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational Tournament Championship.

For his work for NAIA Men's Volleyball, Price was named the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NAIA Men's Volleyball SID of the Year.

In 2015-16 Price will join the Small College Basketball Staff and Founder John McCarthy as the organization's Sports Information Director. He will work alongside John promoting (SCB) and running the organizations website and promotional efforts.

Price also served as Assistant women's basketball coach at Park University during the 2011-12 season under head coach Kenneth Cooper. The Pirates began the 2011-12 campaign with one of the program's best starts posting a 10-1 record at the holiday break. Park advanced to the semifinals of the AMC conference Tournament for the second straight season, and finished with a record of 19-8 a winning percentage of .703, the second highest in program history.

A 2008 graduate of Kansas State University, Price spent three years in the Sports Information Department from 2005-08 as a Student Assistant. Along with assisting in the promotion of all 12 varsity sports at K-State, Price’s main responsibility was serving as the primary media contact for the women’s equestrian program.

After graduation, Price joined the Sports Information staff at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). After a few months promoting the NAIA, Price made the trek a few miles north to Parkville, Mo.

The Overland Park, Kan., native also worked in sports broadcasting early in his career, spending two summers working at 41 Action News in Kansas City as an Associate Sports Producer for the 38 Sports Spot television program and all evening 41 Action News newscasts.

Price is an avid Kansas City sports fan and enjoys watching all Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and Kansas State athletic events.

He lives in Overland Park, Kan., with his daughter Maria.
