Position: Assistant Coach
A recent graduate of Baker University, Connor Bechard will embark on his second season on the coaching staff for the 2013-2014 season. Bechard graduated in 2012 with a B.S. in Physical Education & Health, and will pursue his Masters in Education from the Baker University School of Education.
Bechard was a member of the BU Men's Basketball team from 2007-2012 and red-shirted his freshman season. During his 5 years, many changes occurred within the program, including the on-court success of the Wildcats. Bechard was voted a team captain his senior season, and the Wildcats enjoyed their most successful season in over 15 years. BU finished the season in 3rd place in the HAAC conference standings and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament.
Bechard grew up in Gardner, Kan., and attended Gardner Edgerton High School. His father, Don Bechard, was his high school basketball coach. Don died of cancer in 2008, yet still remains the largest influence on Connor's decision to pursue teaching and coaching as his profession.
Connor's immediate family consists of his mother, Jan, and two younger sisters, Lauren (20) and Addison (17).
