Assistant Director of Athletics - Operations
Andrew Patch enters his third year at Baker as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations. He previously served as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Game Ops & Finance.
In his role with operations, Patch is actively involved with many facets of the Baker Athletics Department. With game operations, Patch coordinates the home event management for all 18 sports teams within 6 athletic facilities; including the VSN Classic Football Bowl Game and all post-season tournament events. In the fall of 2011, he served as the Host Institution Coordinator when Baker University hosted opening round matches for the NAIA Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Tournament. In 2013, Patch helped coordinate event operations for the HAAC Outdoor Track Championships and conference Softball Tournament.
Aside from his event management duties, Patch oversees much of the daily and large scale fiscal operations of the department. In 2011, he had a major hand in forging a partnership with HealthéAthlete that puts Baker in a unique category with NBA, MLS, and Division-I sports medicine departments. Patch also oversees the service agreement for all Daktronics scoreboard equipment and accessories at 5 different athletics facilities. Since 2011, he has managed all sponsorship incentives and promotions with Adidas, the official sponsor of Baker Athletics.
Beyond his involvement with game operations and budget management, Patch guided the progress of several projects within his first year with the Wildcats. He had an active hand in the redesign and build of the athletics website, revitalizing the Hall of Fame Rotunda, assisting with the graphic design and video endeavors of the department, and played a major role in the fundraising and management efforts of the Wildcat Classic Golf Tournament. In 2013, his leadership helped the Wildcat Classic expanded to a larger venue, boost golf membership, and increase fundraising revenue.
Prior to joining Baker, Patch was a consultant at Cerner Corporation where he provided technology support to hospitals and healthcare centers across the United States. Before Cerner, he pursued a career in strength and conditioning and interned with the Colorado Buffaloes and Missouri Tigers.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Baker University in 2010. A former defensive end for the Wildcats, Patch holds two school records and was a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and three-time All-Conference selection.
Currently, Patch is working towards his Masters of Business Administration degree from Baker University and is expected to graduate in February of 2014.
