Alumni include four Rhodes Scholars, a Pulitzer Prize winner, entrepreneurs, educators, nurses, writers, artists, doctors, explorers and trendsetters who have shaped our world.
Four schools comprise Baker University: College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, School of Nursing, School of Professional and Graduate Studies.
Baker is a private, liberal arts university that educates students through small classes, innovative instructors and rigorous coursework.
Position: Graduate Assistant Coach
A new addition to the coaching staff this season is graduate assistant coach is Matt Woodcock. The Australia native graduated in 2012 with a B.S in Biology from Columbia College and will be completing the MLA program at Baker during his time on staff.
Woodcock started his journey in the United States in Beatrice, Neb., playing his first two years at Southeast Community College. In 2010, Matt was recruited by Coach Dooley at Columbia College and had two very successful years; winning one conference championship as well as reaching the NAIA national tournament in both years at Columbia.
Woodcock also earned the Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor for his work in the classroom during his time with the Cougars. Matt is eager to contribute his knowledge and recent experience of the game to the Baker program to continue to develop a winning culture in Men’s Basketball.
Woodcock grew up in Sale, Victoria in Australia and attended Sale College before beginning his adventure to the United States. His mother Heather, father Peter and sister Tegan will all be watching and listening to the wildcats online from Australia this season.
