Position: Assistant Softball Coach
Gary Hines joins the Baker University softball coaching staff for the first time in the 2014 season. Hines has coached collegiate softball for twenty-three years most recently, serving as the assistant coach at Iowa State University for seven years, where he coached an All-Big 12 tournament pitcher who currently holds seven Iowa State school records, and was also named Second Team All-Big 12 and an All-Big 12 Academic team member.
Coach Hines was the Pitching Consultant at Emporia State University for four years, helping develop two All-Conference pitchers, a two-time All-American, and Emporia State record holder in wins, strikeouts, and ERA.
He was also the assistant coach at University of Kansas for twelve years, where he coached eleven All-Conference pitchers and one All-American. Coach Hines helped lead the University of Kansas to five NCAA tournament appearances during his twelve-year tenure. Coach Hines is also currently a pitching instructor at Mac-N-Seitz in Kansas City.
