Collins Library Federal Government Documents
Collins Library has been receiving government documents printed by the federal government since 1908. The library currently selects about 20% of Government Printing Office (GPO) publications through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Our Government Document collection serves both Baker University and the 2nd U.S. Congressional District in Kansas.

There are seventeen depository libraries in the state, including the Kansas State Library, Washburn University Law Library and the Regional Depository at the University of Kansas. The University of Kansas has been receiving 100% of GPO publications since 1976, when it was named the state's regional depository. To locate government documents housed in Collins Library or in other libraries nation-wide check the following indexes, electronic databases, and internet sites.

  • The United States Government Manual , the official handbook of the Federal Government. The information within contains information about the agencies of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches. Contents include a list of U.S. Sentors and Representatives, a directory and overview of Executive agencies, and an explanation of the Judicial court structure. For a paper copy of the United States Government Manual please see the reference section in Collins Library. The United States Government Manual 2002-2003 is shelved on the 2nd floor in the Government Documents area: classified under SuDoc Number: AE 2.108/2:2002-2003
