VIDEOCONFERENCING The University now has videoconferencing capabilities in Collins Library (LI 218), the Overland Park offices and coming soon to the Wichita offices. The equipment we have is better suited to use for meetings than for teaching, as we do not yet have the special cameras that make teaching effective. The faculty of the School of Education will be one of the first schools to hold joint campus meetings this spring. Simon Maxwell asks that anyone wanting to use the equipment contact Brian Roos (x 399) for a 1-hour training. Library 218 should be scheduled with the library staff (x 414). | |

LIBRARY EXHIBITS
Food Preservation. At the beginning of Interterm, Nate Poell -- our resident maker of cider, sauerkraut, pickled eggs and who-knows-what-else -- filled the library display case with various books, kitchen implements and actual food to complement Tanya Sieber's class, "You Eat What You Are." Nate also created a short food preservation bibliography, which is still available at the reference desk. Children's Literature. Students in Carolyn Doolittle's Children's Literature class are taking responsibility for displays this spring. The first iteration displays books by Patricia Polacco, Tomie de Paola, and Judy Blume. These displays will change frequently, so stop by to see if your favorite writers are highlighted. |
