One unanimous vote and a celebratory “wahoo!” from President Pat Long later, it was official: Baker University will break ground this fall on a 9,000-square-foot addition to its historic science building—one that has been in existence since the 1920s—and give the facility a complete face-lift destined to help recruit the best and brightest high school science, mathematics and computer science scholars.
Board of Trustees Approves Construction
Board of Trustees Chairman Hoot Gibson stood up, scanned the room and smiled. “I know this is a little impromptu,” he said, acknowledging the motion was out of turn according to the day’s agenda. “But I am just so excited for this. We’ve talked about this project for 10 years. I move this board passes the plans to add on to and completely renovate Mulvane.”
