Mulvane Transformation Begins

The Baker community celebrated the groundbreaking for the Mulvane Transformation project on Friday, Oct. 7. During the festivities President Pat Long announced that the renovation and expansion project will be supported by a $3.5 million gift, the largest in the University’s history.

At the request of the anonymous donors, the complex will be named the Ivan L. Boyd Center for Collaborative Science Education. Boyd taught biology at Baker University from 1941 to 1972 and was instrumental in establishing the Baker Wetlands. His children and their spouses and several grandchildren have attended school and worked at Baker University.
