NEWS RELEASE Erin Bode Group to perform free concertBaldwin City, Kan. — The Erin Bode Group will perform a free concert of folk music and jazz at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at McKibbin Recital Hall on the Baldwin City campus. The group features Erin Bode, vocals; Adam Maness, piano and acoustic guitar; Sydney Rodway, bass; and Derrek Phillips, drums. Bode, a singer and songwriter, has been critically acclaimed by the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Jazz Times, and the Chicago Tribune. The group has performed at such jazz venues as Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., Zanzibar Blue and World Café Live in Philadelphia, and at Sweet Rhythm and Joe’s Pub in New York. Having released four major CDs in recent years, Erin Bode has been featured on “A Prairie Home Companion” and will soon be seen on “Fox and Friends Weekend” and the “Saturday Early Show” on CBS. On tour with her group through Missouri and Kansas, she and her quartet will also conduct song-writing and jazz clinics for students at Baker during their two-day “residency” in Baldwin City.
